Admission with MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation under the Special Program) for the Department of Chemistry and Life Science

The Department of Chemistry and Life Science of the Graduate School of Engineering Science is recruiting international students who want to enroll in Doctoral or Master's Program in October 2024 through the MEXT* Scholarship (Research Student by University Recommendation under the Special Program).

International students enrolled in the special program belong to the PED** program. This program focuses on an internship while studying and practical education. Our goal is to nurture researchers/engineers with expertise in practical environmental and energy technologies that will contribute to achieving SDG-based growth in emerging countries and Japan, by utilizing industry-government-academia collaboration in the Yokohama region.

*MEXT: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, Japan, (Monbukagakusho)

**PED(Pi-type Engineering Degree) Program : Practical education is offered in a combination of modules, each of which systematically integrates a studio (laboratory courses, exercises, and training related directly to manufacturing and conducted in a small team) with related lecture courses.
In master's programs, studio deliverables are mainly used to prepare portfolios in place of a master's thesis.

It is possible to apply in conjunction with a double degree program for students who are enrolled at some universities.
Please consult with us in advance if you wish.
